Assessment plan
With a view to impart the most modern method of education, the school endeavours its civilization. Stress is laid on the universal aspects of Indian culture, and the students are introduced to the rich spiritual heritage which transcends the narrow limits of language, caste, color and creed. A sound evaluation system is imperative to provide proper feedback for student’s rapid progress. The system called CCE (Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation) has completely changed the way student’s school work is evaluated. Under the new CCE system all CBSE students are evaluated continuously during the year based on their homework, class participation, extracurricular and whole load of other things. Students will also have to take a test at the end of each term. Their final scores will depend on how they have done in both of these, because each kind of assessment is important.
Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) has been recently introduced by CBSE is getting very popular, it covers all aspects of student’s development with both Formative and Summative Assessment. The CCE enables teachers to track and analyze student’s performance and conduct in scholastic and co-scholastic assessment with advanced Grading System as per CBSE guidelines. CCE system helps the teacher to regularly update student’s performance and to analyze the challenging areas of the student.
Students can keep a track of their assessment in time and with regard to Formative Assessment and summative Assessment, they can analyze their strengths and weakness, and incorporate the suggestions by the teachers to improve their performance. This also empowers students with self-assessment.
Formative Assessment
Formative assessment in CCE system includes class work, homework, projects, assignments, test oral questions and queries. The weight age will be calculated as per the guidelines by the system automatically, and the same will be updated in the Report Card.
Summative Assessment
Summative assessment in CCE system include curriculum module where the school updates the syllabus as defined by CBSE Board and when the exams are conducted at the end of the term, the results from the examination conducted by school will be updated in the Report Card module. Summative Assessment provides real time feedback on the student’s learning to Teachers & Parents.
Grading System
In the grading module of CCE system, at the end of the year all the students are given grade from A to Ebased on their overall performance. Each grade means that the student has scored marks that fall in a certain range. The grades that a student can get are A1 (91 to 100 marks), A2 (81 to 90 marks), B1 (71 to 80 marks), B2 (61 to 70 marks) and so on until E2 (20 and below). The grade is important, though and not the marks. Student getting and ‘E’ are even allowed to write improvement test to better their grades. Finally, for each grade, the student gets a score called a ‘grade point’ with this grade point, students can calculate their average performance in all subjects.
Pre Primary
The Pre Primary wing functions as an extension of home, the teaching is informal with specially designed aids to facilitate the psycho-motor skills of the little ones. All the learning is through play and pleasurable activities. We prepare them to expire reality through their natural curiosity and zest for life. We believe that spoon feeding and hot house protection is harmful for the child.
Primary & Secondary
Classes I,II & III follow a well balanced academic curriculum with English, Hindi, EVS, Math as the core subjects and General Knowledge, Art & Craft, Music as essential support subjects. Various other activities form an integral part of the teaching learning process. In classes IV and V in the place of Environmental Studies, there is a segregation of science and social science which have two well defined subjects. In class V the third language is introduced. Computer Science, General Knowledge, Music, Dance, Art & Craft and Physical Education form an integral part of the curriculum.
The school follows the CBSE pattern in the secondary section along with various activities in its curriculum.
The evaluation system is continuous and comprehensive. The academic year is divided into two semesters. There are two cycle tests in each subject one in each semester & surprise tests at regular interralsand First Semester Examination and Second Semester Examination weight age is allotted for all tests and activities. Skilled and gifted children are identified and groomed with extra care so that many reach levels of excellence. At the same time we take care to follow up with children who need extra care.
